This course is designed for bachelor students in English Education. The students will be focused on their perspective both practical and theoretical, examining topics that include the kinds of readings and readers. The aim to be achieved from Literature in English teaching shall enable students to build their characters, understand other people’s characters, and have a better knowledge of the world. English teachers are trying to create effective pedagogical practices for teaching literature. It promotes literary skills and other skills related to communication, creativity, and critical thinking. It also serves as a bridge for learners to appreciate their rich literary traditions, heritage, and cultures. 

The course is designed around 3 core themes: the purposes for teaching literature; the content for teaching literature; and pedagogical approaches for teaching literature. We will explore these topics through various texts, literary works, and perspectives. Based on the topics to be covered in the whole semester, students are expected to produce individual text analyses of the text provided that are suitable for some aspect of the teaching of literature at any grade level. Students' learning is assessed through mid-test and final tests, assignments, quiz(es), and class participation.
